House expected to follow in Senate footsteps and pass Jobs Bill

On March 2, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told reporters that he hoped to have a vote on the Senate passed Jobs Bill (H.R. 2847, the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act) very soon. It appears that there are enough House Democratic votes to pass the bill. The HIRE Act would create a limited “payroll tax holiday” and a tax credit to encourage companies to hire unemployed workers in 2010.
